Cook the apples for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they soften slightly and release their juices
Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes, then drain excess liquid if necessary
Cut puff pastry sheets into four equal squares and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
