Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and place them skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet
In a small bowl, combine minced garlic, lemon zest, olive oil, salt, and black pepper
Spread the garlic and lemon mixture evenly over each salmon fillet
Arrange fresh lemon slices on top of each fillet and sprinkle with fresh thyme or dill
Bake for 12-15 minutes until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork
