Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and place a baking dish filled with hot water in the oven for a water bath
In a saucepan, heat 1 cup of sugar over medium heat without stirring until it turns golden amber, then quickly pour into a pudding mold or baking dish, coating the bottom and sides evenly
Blend the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, whole eggs, and vanilla extract in a blender until completely smooth and creamy
Pour the milk mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into the caramel-coated mold to remove any air bubbles
Place the filled mold in the water bath in the oven and bake for 50 minutes to 1 hour until the pudding is set but still slightly jiggly in the center
Remove from the oven and water bath, then allow to cool completely to room temperature
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight until fully chilled and set
Run a thin knife around the edges and invert onto a serving plate, allowing the caramel sauce to drip over the pudding
